Hi! I'm new to the board. I was sleeved March 26th. I'm having a hard time with the pureed stage, I can't handle actually pureeing food and I don't eat any fish. I've been pretty much sticking to my shakes, cottage cheese and plain greek yogurt. Any ideas? Thanks so much!! :)

Dannon Light & Fit Greek yogurt is really good. Refried Beans with cheese. chicken salad or tuna salad, needs to be pureed though... Ricotta cheese topped with Pasta sauce. Any of the Soups you ate on full liquids can be pureed and eaten now without making them so runny, they become much more satisfying.

I don't think I puréed one thing. I'm not saying you should go rogue like me, but I ate extremely soft foods for two months and chewed very well. I lived on eggs, cheese, and yogurt. Also blueberries, avocado, etc. I am positive some folks won't agree with me but I had no issues. I guess I'm just a rebel like @LipstickLady.

I am 6 days post op. First couple of days I def stuck to the liquid thing 100%. Here lately I have been making Soups with soft noodles and making sure I chew them very well. I myself am getting kind of sick of the liquid diet. I am ready to move on.

Anything like split pea Soup, bean with bacon soup with less Water, refried Beans etc. all are very satisfying even pureed. Just keep them thick enough to not be runny and they are very satisfying IMO. A little difficult to get out of the blender though LOL

One of the BEST things I had while on the pureed phase was literally pureed filet mignon. I went to Longhorn and got a petite filet medium rare, brought it home and put it in the food processor with a little beef broth and pureed it down to the consistency of loose pâté. Oh my goodness it was heaven and high in Protein.

Another yummy thing I did at this stage was to take ricotta cheese and mix in the preshredded Italian blend cheeses, an egg and salt and pepper and baked it in mini ramekins. I then topped it off with a little marinara sauce.

Take the time with each phase to explore healthy options and try new things. Your tastes will change. Start your healthy new life from the beginning of this amazing journey. There are great options at every phase but choose the healthier ones. I know a lot of people use mashed potatoes on the pureed phase but for me, if it had no Protein, I did not include it. Follow your plan but you can be creative within the guidelines. Eat to live rather than live to eat.

It's looking like I am on that same track! Did any of you have problems with healing? It's so much more filling and I have a little more energy! Just worried about my staples!!! I'm 5 days out ????

I am also on this track- I'm supposed to start purees 4/20 (which is a month out for me) however.. I was just not eating since I was over everything else and i'm not getting my Protein in. I started on ricotta bake, and refried Beans with a lot of sour cream. This weekend I added in cottage cheese and tuna salad. So far so good.

I actually ate baby food sometimes when I was in your stage. I had to add a bit of salt to it though. Any type of babyfood that has some Protein it it and very soft chunks or noodles. I can't remember if it was stage 2 or 3. I also still enjoy baby applesauce and I'm 2 months out.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
