The more fit I get, the worse my skin looks?

Recommended Posts

Anyone else? I've been doing a lot of weight training over the last few months, and I can tell I've built my muscle back up, but the tighter they get, the worse my skin looks. The only thing I can think of to describe it would be to say that it drips and puddles. Ewww.

Wondering if this is just me?

Skin on your body or skin on your face? Honestly my skin looks better. I was always a makeup gal so I take good care of face, but the increased Water drinking and exercise has my skin positively glowing. On my body my skin looks better as well, but the best part is I just noticed that the stretch marks on my stomach are fading. I'm not sure if it because the skin is not as stretched or the use of the scarfade gel on my incisions.

I think that muscle and skin are 2 different things. I'm not sure who, how or where the statement that if we built up muscle it would help the skin. Skin isn't like muscle, they are different types of cells.

Are you hydrating enough? I have found that VIGROUSLY massaging CeraVe cream (in the big tub) has really improved my skin, overall, even my face! I use sunscreen if I go outside, but I gotta say for a 53 year old I don't look so bad! I honestly thought the weight loss would leave me saggy and baggy (on the backside I can't seem to fight the B. and S. so well!). Like Blerdgirl said, hydrating well does miracles for the skin. Good luck and a Blessed Easter to you!

I just want my nice round butt back. Really, I want it back. I didn't have any issues with it!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
