Cupcake 801 Posted April 5, 2015 Hi I am almost 11 months post opt from RNY and I am currently looking into plastic surgery. I am looking to having a tummy tick and breast lift. It is funny everyone says that I look great and I am crazy but I can not stand the stomach pouch that I now have from having children and RNY. My insurance will cover the Tummy Tuck do to the lost of the 100 pounds but in order to cover the lift I need additional documentations. I am interviewing surgeons now to find the best one for me. If you have had a tummy tuck or breast lift can you share your story, or if you are considering plastic surgery can you share your experiences or why you are looking into plastic. Thank you. rte837 141 Posted April 5, 2015 I had it ALL! Facelift, breast lift, brachioplasty, inner thigh lift, circumfrential body/tummy lift, butt lift. I was told no insurance would pay. But it was worth every cent to me. I'd lost the weight but still couldn't wear clothes that looked good. For ex.; arm flab hung so much the arms wouldn't fit on most clothes. And I could practically tuck my boobs into my waist bands!! $$ to do; took over 3 years but no regrets. Took time to heal and lots of drains. But LOVE my surgeon. He pampered me and was very artful and skilled at what he does. Don't know what state you're in. If Fl., try Bernard Shuster in Hollywood/Miami area. Good luck. Cupcake 801 Posted April 8, 2015 If you have lost 100 pounds or more your insurance will cover it. I have already received my referral letters from my insurance company and they said they will cover it.
Toni Pfister 13 Posted April 11, 2015 i had lapband done in 09, had my son in 2011, lost a total of 120 pds. I had a breast Aug. done, as I went from a ddd to a b cup. I also had my tummy done last summer. I can say that it was the best thing I did. My insurance covered the tummy part. I found out last month that my lapband caused my Hiatal hernia and I was able to get the revision to bypass. I can say that I should have done this before hand. I feel that the only thing that I will have to have done is my arms. I gained back 50 pds and I have lost about 25 of it before my surgery on the 30th. My Bariatric Life 764 Posted April 11, 2015 @@Cupcake see if your insurance will cover a breast REDUCTION. if your surgeon will write it up as such, it is the same procedure as a lift. its just that a reduction is for larger breasts, hence more tissue is removed, and is covered by most insurance whereas the lift is not. if they cover the TT then i will bet they'd cover the breast reduction i had Tummy Tuck http://www.healthcentral.com/obesity/c/276918/160586/bariatric-abdominoplasty-ch?ap=831 then total body contouring (body lift, thigh lift, arm lift, breast lift) http://www.healthcentral.com/obesity/c/276918/164000/total-body-lift?ap=831 then facial plastic surgery http://www.healthcentral.com/obesity/c/276918/169993/bariatric-facelift-massive $40k out of pocket, self pay Here's some really good advice on selecting a plastic surgeon for body contouring after weight loss http://www.healthcentral.com/obesity/c/276918/162591/interview-capella-plastic-1?ap=831 I hope this helps.
