I think you have lost enough...

Recommended Posts

I'm still waiting for someone that doesn't know about my band to notice, and say something about my weight loss. Over 50 lbs gone, and NOTHING. Not that I care, but you'd think SOMEONE would notice! LOL!

You know it is funny. Not one person said ANYTHING until just recently. I prefer people not to notice actually. In my head, if they don't notice my 80 pound weight loss, perhaps they never noticed how big I was in the first place. hhahahaha

But ya, travelgirl, no one said anything to me when I was down 40, 50, 60 and even 70 pounds. Either they were worried I'd gain it back or just didn't want to jinx me. I don't know. But now, I wish they'd STOP. But I am weird that way, I really don't want the attention.

I guess I agree with that, I don't want hoardes of people asking me about my weight loss... So, yeah, I'm happy enough with DH telling me how skinny I'm getting. Makes me feel pretty darn beautiful when he puts his arms around me, and they actually FIT, ya know?

I KNOW!!!!! Isn't it wonderful?

I am feeling beautiful again for the first time in many, many, many years.

I LOVE this band.....

My dear MIL just said it last night.

My response

"Thanks!"

Why say anymore than that right?

LIFE IS GOOD!

I get the opposite, my mom keeps making comments about how much I can eat.. cause right after surgey ya know I ate nothing, I was like a bird with broth.. I was in bandster hell, had my first fill last week and do not feel any different, so she likes to make comments like "You sure can eat a lot".. even though it's about 1/2 what I normally ate.. I read the goal is 1/3 what I normally eat..

Anyway, I did want to put my opinion out there on too thin.. Mostly on RNY Before & After, more so than lap-band Before & After, I see people who look too thin IMO. That's likely personal preference, I've always thought women with curves (hips/butt/boobs) and men with more shape to their body were more attractive than skinny skinny. In fact, at 6'0 my goal is 180lb which I am 'guestimating' will be a size 12/14.. I'm not saying I won't change my mind in time, but I really don't want to fall below size 12/14 for my height.. I want to have curves.. I don't want to be like the anorexic celebrities we see in the papers.. I think that's much more disgusting than being overweight visually.

OOO nice to 'meet' another 6 footer. I am already fitting into generous 14's. I'd like to lose my tummy fat and a bit around my thighs and back. I am not asking for skinny, just to lose this muffin top.

I'd love to weigh anywhere between 172-180 and be a Tall Girl size 12. Yep, that'd be good for me. If I have to have surgery to get rid of this tummy fat, I'll consider that too.

I have no fear of looking anorexic. I will never look anorexic...lol!

When my mom lost a lot of weight, and then cut her hair short, she said some people asked her if she was sick, and if she needed anything, or asked her how she was. I think they were worried she might have had cancer or something. She thought people were being nosy, but from what people said (and a couple of people asked me about her), I think they were just honestly concerned. Maybe people who have had issues with body image and stuff like that for so long still have some of those issues and are going to take comments about weightloss more seriously than they might be meant. Also, it is unusual to lose this much weight. How many moribdly obese people do you know who go and drop 100 pounds? Or end up normal weight after years of being obese?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
