Kathy Solis 0 Posted April 5, 2015 So, this may sound stupid, but after we see dietician, and she recommends a plan, are we supposed to lose weight prior to surgery? I know, weird question
CanyonBaby 1,852 Posted April 5, 2015 Not weird, normal! It depends on your doctor. It seems everyone is different about this, so you should ask any and every question you can think of, while you are there. It also will depend on your insurance, if you are using it. I hope this helps (probably not, but it is worth it to ask), and have a Blessed Easter!
Stephanie Stroup McIntosh 157 Posted April 6, 2015 Most docs want you to lose 5-10%. It shows that you are committed and will really make the process easier. You have to be ready to make a life change. This isn't a quick fix and they want to make sure people will really do what is necessary. For my insurance I had to be on a 6 month documented diet. Every doctor and insurance company is different, but your doctor should be able to tell you exactly what they expect.
