I'm glad you posted this. I'm really interested in reading the responses to this question. I'm already below my goal weight, but I'm not confident about transitioning from weight loss mode to maintenance. I'm afraid that as I add calories, I'll add pounds as well. I'm hoping someone will know the best way to stop losing without gaining.

I slowly started adding more fat and healthy carbs when I was within 10 pounds of my goal weight. Switched from skim milk to 1%, fat free cottage cheese to regular, 0% Greek yogurt to 2%, replaced some Protein Bars with whole grain bars and homemade granola, ate more fruit and nuts, allowed myself a few more deserts, etc. I lost another 20 pounds even after transitioning to a "maintenance diet". My body just found its new normal and I can pretty much keep myself within a 4-5 pound bounce range just by altering my carb intake up or down as needed. Basically eat whatever unless I hit the top end of my range then I go back to Protein and veggie basics until I'm back to the bottom of my range. I still always get 60-80g protein, 64+ oz Water, a variety of veggies and all my Vitamins.< /p>

5'5", 140#, 10 pounds below goal. I probably get at least 60-80g protein/day (40-60g from my daily smoothie and Quest bar) and minimum 64oz fluids. I don't count calories, carbs or fat, so can't give you an answer there. I Simply eat a well balanced diet of protein, veggies, fruit and whole grains. Sweets, alcohol and other simple carbs in moderation. Love my sleeve!

I am also at goal, but it's still hard. I am so afraid of screwing up. I added a couple of calories to my daily intake. I usually eat between 1100-1400 calories a day. I don't deprive myself from anything. But I will not eat to much. I'm still trying to get my eating habits under control. I'm 5'2, hw 225, sw 200, cw 133. Size tight 16 to 6. I never thought I would lose that much. I love it. Everyday is a challenge but I wouldn't change anything

My problem is that I like my current weight. I really want to maintain it for as long as possible. I know it's a foolish vanity, but this (115 lbs) is the least I have weighed since Jr. High school. I'm enjoying fitting into waist-hugging dresses and skinny jeans. I guess the answer is in the other end of the equation. If I want to broaden my diet, I'll need to exercise more.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
