shortybg2 7 Posted April 4, 2015 Good morning everyone, I have just begun looking into the whole insurance bit and went to the initial orientation. However, my BMI is currently right at 40 and they made it very at the orientation that patients below 40 must have a pre-exciting condition to qualify. What happens if I lose weight and did below 40 during the 6 months of food logging and weight management that required by the insurance? Has any one been denied for this reason? NewMeLinZ 66 Posted April 4, 2015 I was in the same situation, although my BMI is a bit higher. They told me that as long as I had a BMI over 30 at the end of the 6 months, I was good to go. I do not have any pre existing conditions either. I didn't mind the 6 months. I am in my last month. Didn't lose a ton, but some. I have really enjoyed the time to get used to the idea, changing my eating habits, etc... Good luck!
