I had my surgery on March 24th and I can safely say I have been super hungry ever since. I am on a liquid diet (including thinned cream of wheat and thinned soup) for another week and a half. Please tell me it gets better :)

Welcome to head-hunger! Try to feel your tummy. It will probably say "no thanks, I've had enough!". BUT your head just can't wrap itself around that! Use the search feature in the upper right hand corner to find the many posts about this subject, and if you have more questions, don't forget to ask!

Yep, I drank so much flavored Water I spent half my day in the restroom, lol! Those little packets of Instant Lipton Cream of chicken Soup were my saving grace on full liquids... Make it with 4 oz of Water and add a scoop of unflavored Protein powder. I also got egg drop Soup from a local restaurant.... very satisfying.

If it is any consolation, it gets dramatically better when you get to purees/soft foods, that is when my hunger stopped.

I was sleeved on 3/30/15 and my hunger has returned. I was able to reason around the hunger because I know how painful it would be to even try. Also, I MUST trust the process and surgery. food will be there for me soon in 3 meals of 4oz. I'm relying on "Eating to live not living to eat." Old habits suck.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
