Hey Everyone,

I am now 8 days post op and for some reason woke up today and am having some pain below my stomach below one of my incision sites. It's pretty intense. I took pain meds but it's still there. Do you guys know how long pain lasts typically?

I would call your surgeon's office. I think you should expect pain to decrease not increase over time. I don't think I had pain meds after the first few days...

It's probably nothing, but better safe than sorry!

I would call your surgeons office to check but I had pain for a good 2 weeks at my large incision site. It was not all the time it was more like when I moved the wrong way or bent too far over. When I called to ask the Dr about it the nurse said I was either pulling on a stich inside or I pulled a muscle but if the pain did not go away in a couple days to call back and by the next day it was almost gone. She said I could alternate hot and cold packs on it and that seemed to help. I don't know if this is the same as you but I would call the Dr. just to be on the safe side.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
