That is so funny cause I was just talking to my mom this morning about this and I have my body weight distributed evenly on my body but i have come to the conclusion that I will have excess skin because i have been large all my life and there is nothing I can do about that. I have embraced it. I spoke to my Fiance about it and he said "Baby, Its the same skin I love now and will always love". I was worried about it too but when he put it to me like that I realized he is right. Its the same skin I have now and I should just be happy to have a longer more fullfilling life SKIN AND ALL! Love yourself no matter what you look like cause this isnt and shouldnt be about looks. This is about your life.

My weight is distributed evenly as well, although I do have one really bad problem area - my arms! I don't think there is anything I can do. I exercise like a mad woman and they are getting better.

I did buy some wraps for my arms and stomach and I can tell a difference after a few days. I try to sleep in the stomach wrap and put the arm wraps on daily.

Oh well, I'll do my best but another surgery is not in the cards for me

I wear compression garments. So far my thighs are jiggly but not bad. I'm just not overly concerned. I'll do as much weight lifting as I can to encourage it not to sag, but ultimately it's just something I'll deal with when I get there.

Excess skin or dieing early from health issues....I will take my excess skin.

Me, my husband and the occasional Dr are the only ones who see me naked. (lol) compression garments work fine at this point.

Search this topic and you will find hundreds of posts on the subject. I'm still laying in bed with my morning coffee so a tad too sleepy to reply now. You can search what I've said in prior replies though! Genetics plays a huge role!

My arms are my problem although they are getting better with the weight lifting.

Yes, I do.

My arms are literally twice the size they should be because of the skin. I have handfuls of loose skin from my breastbone to my groin. I posted a photo of that in the plastic surgery forum.

I have to wear oversized tops and loose sweaters and sweatshirts to hide it.

The only place I'll let it fly is at my gym because it's owner by a former Mr. Olympia and most of the members are hardcore weightlifters, bodybuilders and MMA/UFC fighters. It's like working out next to a bunch of Rocky's. Best atmosphere ever. Really old school. I work out with a personal trainer three hours a week, and the rest of the week on my own.

The only real fix for this is plastic surgery. I want to lose about 20 lbs more before I start plastics in Mexico.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
