I was in my bed on day 1, I usually sleep half on my side, half on my stomach. I think it was about a week before I could sleep normally.

I was in my bed on day 1 as well but could not sleep on my side for about 2 weeks. I would use pillows to make a ramp to keep my head elevated.

I've not had a good sleep since my surgery 22/03/2015. I'm sleeping in my bed though I normally sleep in the foetus position and at present I'm having to sleep flat on my back due to my wound which still have not healed. I think once they have healed I'll beable to sleep in my normal position, lets hop anyway.

The first night in the hospital I was told I had to stay at a 45 degree position. When the Doctor came in and released me he said any position was fine with him. I have only been able to sleep in an hour and a half intervals but that includes sleeping on my side and stomach. I just have to be careful how I get in and out of the position. Good Luck.

Well I know why now. I had an abscess in site. It burst two days ago. Now I am opened back up with packing changes twice a day so that pressure and pain stopped me from laying flat. Now even with packing it feels so much better. Got a date with my bed Saturday night, I got high hopes in it working now!

Been in my bed since the first night but propped up on 4 pillows....hurts to lay flat or on my sides still. I only sleep about 2 hours at a time for some reason. Sorry to hear of your abscess hope all heals well.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
