Regular(multiple incision sleeve) or Single Incision Sleeve

Recommended Posts

Please help me decide. I do qualify for the Single Incision Sleeve, I just don't want the multiple incision sleeve scars to be noticeable. I've already had Tummy Tuck Scar that's covered with a tattoo and I also have 3 liposuctions scars. Will the multiple incision scars be bigger than the Lipo suction scars? My boyfriend is also a trucker which I only see twice a month and I seriously don't want it to be noticeable so that's why I was going with the single sleeve. I'm new to the board, well been lurking for 6months now and I know it sound like a stupid question, but i been really thinking hard about this and I have my surgery on April 24th with Dr Fernando Garcia in TJ. To all the sleevers, please feel free to chime in and help a sister/friend out :) Thank you!!!! Love ya'll!

I was going to do the single incision as well, but after hearing from others that the scars are barely noticeable I went with the regular sleeve to save me some money :)

Depending on how well your skin heals, of coarse everyone is different. Personally, however I would prob have a hard time finding all of mine even if I tried.

Thanks for the replies. My Lipo scars are very tiny and faint. I don't have keloiding skin. I believe I'm going with the regular sleeve. Thanks again :)

I had my surgery with Dr. Ortiz and Dr. Martinez at OCC. The make all of their incisions below the belly button, except one tiny one just below your breastbone. So even if you did scar easily, they would all be hidden under everything but low waisted pants.

These are my scars about 1 year post op. In fact, the worst scar I have is just above my belly button which is where my belly button ring ripped out 4 years ago (got it caught on a hook on the corner of a table). The surgical incisions are barely visible.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
