Check the scale and I'm down 42lbs.... Have been have a pulling type pain in my right side... Is that normal? Also as I been walking I sometimes get little muscle spasms in my calf muscles. Still trying to get in 64 oz of Water and I think my muscle mass is shrinking... What is a good way of toning and maintaining the muscle mass?

Exercise, walking is great. Try walking fast, then slow. Keep drinking the 64 ozs, Water an 60 grams Protein. You probably aren't used to walking. Just massage legs, always stretch them before walking.

I had very bad pain for over a month. It was horrible for about a week. My whole stomach was black and blue on the outside..two of my friends used the same dr after I did and they didn't bruise. They were over 100 lbs over weight I was about 60 or 70. It's been 3 years I've gained back about 10 lbs after long vacation this winter. I've lost 3 so far but it's much harder now and I'm 65 so that may be part of problem

Well I'm almost 75 an it's been 9 weeks an I'm tired of the soft food, all Protein. No veggies or fruit. An can only handle 1/4__ 1/2 cup at a time. I've lost weight but at what a price.

Are you wear any support around your stomach? I had that pain but started wearing Spanx because sitting at work killed my stomach. It helped a lot- I had to get up and move too.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
