Chris Brito 5 Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) So I decided after many years of being overweight and health issues, I decided to get the gastric sleeve. I am so ready for the surgery. I wanna know if anybody has had any issues with Anthem/Blue Cross and part of Seaside Medical Group and getting around the 6mth diet. I have Hypertension,Severe sleep apena and borderline diabetic. Any ideas I can present to to the Dr.'s office to see if I can get the diet waived. I am ready to do this. Anybody every had to deal with this issue. Thanks everybody! SarahLovy 6 Posted April 1, 2015 Is it the insurance company or the doctor's office that has the 6 month wait? I have Anthem as well, and for my policy there is a 6 month requirement from Anthem. There is no way around it. If it is the policy of your doctor's office, it is up to their discretion if they will waive the 6 month supervised diet.
Chris Brito 5 Posted April 21, 2015 It is the insurance, but I am struggling as my weight is now screwing with my knee, and I can't excersise and my wait loss had now turned into a weight gain...I wonder if that is gonna be an issue.
perk4756 259 Posted May 4, 2015 5 back surgeries have also contributed to my weight gain. I'm very excited to change the hand I've been dealt
Chris Brito 5 Posted May 5, 2015 So an update, now Anthum Blue Cross is in a dispute with Memorial so I have been sent to another Surgon, Dr.Malgorzata Stanzcyk, MD over at St. Marys in Long Beach. I am hitting my last month of the weight loss, which honestly after me trying so hard, has been tough. My knee has been hurting from all the walking. I have lost about 15lbs and Im terrified they are gonna say no. I have sleep apena, high BP and its taking a toll on me. I meet with the new doctor this thursday, so I am hping all will go well. Just waiting on my PCP to get the diet paperwork back to me. Very exciting.
