Gastric Sleeve 24 hours ago...? stomach/esophageal spasms

Recommended Posts

I had a horrible time with that for weeks after my surgery. It finally stopped on its own. Try not to let your self get dehydrated. It's tough but hang in there.

Are yall feeling the pain like in your chest? Every time I take a drink I get a tight feeling in my chest and it'll do it a few times then it's gone till I sip again. I had band removed and sleeved 6/12/15.

That's where my pain mostly was. I found that if I drank lukewarm drinks it didn't hurt as much... And yes the bad spasms would get better after a few sips. It only lasted a couple weeks for me and got better each day after that.

Yup the doctor said it was from the hernia repair swelling. He put me on the sublingual tablets as well, and they do help. I get more in when I take them. it's gradually getting better (day 6 post op) but I still need the tablets or I don't get enough fluids in. Sucks. But it should get better.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
