So I go to my informational meeting tomorrow, after that then what I'm so anxious to get started.

Each program is different. At the informational meeting they should provide you with an overview of how their program works. Things may vary depending on your insurance regulations, but the program will be able to provide you with that information.

If you are able attend informational meetings of more than one program. I looked at 2 different surgeons before I choose my doctor.

Start getting all your medical records together from every doctor, specialists, and emergency room visits. For example I went all the way back to 2002 when my weight started to out of my control. I have four doctors, three gym membership, 15 different emergency visits from asthma, joint pain, and a mini stroke, chiropractic, plastic surgery three surgeries, and a muscle bone and joint doctor. I started to educate myself with every bit of information I could find about VSG and other options. Educate yourself everything the good and bad about everything you will have to go through. If you still want to do gastric bypass surgery, that's great. If you have amazing doctor then you can plan for all appointments now. You going to see a pulmonary, gastroenterologist, cardiologist, blood work, EDG and a nutritionist. Research the hell of what you getting into because you don't want to be stared in the wrong direction. I wish you the best of luck!!!! Keep me posted.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
