Bellaloly 2 Posted March 30, 2015 I went to my appt today for my last visit with my surgeon before surgery expecting that he would put me on a liquid "preop" diet. He said I don't have to!! I was so shocked and now I am wondering if he's wrong...has anyone not had to go thru a preop diet?
della street 213 Posted March 30, 2015 @Bellaloly Yes, -- I am two months post-bypass -- I, too, read so much on here about 2-week liquid diets, etc. However, my surgeon only required a couple of days - I think it was 1-2 days of light eating, then 1 day of liquids-only. All went well - and I felt *really* lucky to not have to endure two weeks!!
Jessestita 2 Posted March 30, 2015 I'm having my surgery on the 6th and my surgeon said liquids on the fourth and milk of magnesia the day before and that's it
leag78 469 Posted March 30, 2015 I'm having my surgery on the 6th and my doctor said no liquid diet as well. He just told me to continue to eat light. But nothing after midnight the day before surgery. I meant my surgery is on the 8th
blashlee 509 Posted March 30, 2015 I've been on a liquid diet for a week and will continue it until my surgery Monday. And for a minimum of a week after. Not all surgeons do it apparently.
