I am 6 days post op today. My dr requires a full week of Clear liquids which seems a little longer than most ive seen here. I think my body is ready for some protien because I took a nap yesterday afternoon and had an intense food dream.

My family was at the beach trying to decide which restaurant to eat at for lunch, but they kept getting distracted and wandering off. I was intently scrutinizing all of the menu choices and it was very vivid. I was insistent that we needed to eat right away because I was so hungry. Funny thing is that when I woke up I was not hungry at all. I think i am just sick of juice and Water. Lol!

Anyone else having food dreams or is it just wacky me?

OMG! I just had a food dream last night! I wanted to go to a local fast food restaurant from my home town.

I'm 5 days post surgery and on full liquids. I'm not hungry either but the dream was a little sad because that hamburger seemed so good!

I had Clear Liquids for 1 week post-op. I drank a lot of broth. Won ton Soup without the won-tons/green onions, and the broth from french onion Soup were my favorites.

Second week was full liquids.

I don't think the 1 week of clear liquids post op is uncommon.

I never had food dreams.

It seems like I see a lot of people drinking Protein shakes a day or 2 post op. I can't have one until wed.

A few days after surgery I had a bizarre dream that my partner decided to make cocktail sausages for Breakfast, and decided to bring them to bed - I was annoyed at this in my dream as my dream self had had the surgery and couldn't eat.

So while he nipped out of the room, I decided that if only I could chew a sausage and taste it, without swallowing, that would be nice. So I did.

Then the dream setting flipped around and I was going into our living room (with the chewed cocktail sausage still in my mouth) so I had to discreetly throw the chewed sausage into an open fire (our living room doesn't actually have an open fire).

As I say, bizarre.

The last couple night I have been getting food dreams as well. It seems to be the same food item, crinkle cut fires. Which is odd since I rarely ever ate them.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
