What's making you angry? Frustration? Hormones? Mine was loss of perceived control

I don't know. It started in the hospital. My mom was helping me while my husband took care of the kids at home and she has always been long winded when she talks but I thought it was going to take every ounce of self control not to go off. Today has been the worse for my short fuse with my kids. I am starting to feel so guilty not to mention that I go back to work as a teacher (special ed none the less) tomorrow and I am scared of this short fuse that has developed.

Are you able to sleep good at night? Are you dreading going back to work tomorrow? Lingering discomfort and that deprived feeling of not being able to eat were my only real negatives.

It could be a ton of little things all piled up together. Hopefully the day will go smoothly, I actually felt better going back to work and getting back in the groove of a routine. I hope your day goes smoothly tomorrow, and you shake off this irritation.

Estrogen is stored in fat cells. It's all being released. Your hormones are out of whack, your body is recovering from major trauma.

You'll be back to normal soon. Just apologize in advance and get your rest.

I'm going to try and hold off on any medications this soon as I have read about replacing addictions. Going to try some deep breathing for now.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
