sweetpea51 3 Posted June 10, 2007 Hello everyone - I am having my surgery this summer. I am very scared and nervous and am concerned that I won't be able to do it after the surgery. I heard it is very hard to "not eat", especially when you have the smell of food around you. I am also concerned that I chose the right doctor for this - did anyone in R.I. have the band done by Dr. Dean Roye? It seems that everyone I talk to had it done by another doctor in R.I. who also does it. Also, how long was your hospital stay and how long were you out of work? I would appreciate any feedback on this subject. Thanks. Sweetpea51
tlmlimbrick 0 Posted June 10, 2007 Hi there, I had mine done 06/06/07, and am now 4 days out. I am having some issues with the smell of food, but you can get past it if you remember that even trying something this early on can make you sick, at least that is what it is like for me. Will power....you have to have it. I was at the hospital at 5:30 AM on the day of surgery and was released by 2:00 pm that same day. I don't work so I can't help you there...but I would give it at least a week before you go back to work. I am feeling pretty good today and like I said am four days out. A week should do you good. I am in Texas so wouldn't know about your doc, but do research...alot of research before deciding on one. Good Luck. Tammy
