BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted May 11, 2015 So sorry to hear this. Unfortunately for some sleeve patients extreme nausea is indeed an issue due to nothing other than luck of the draw. Hopefully this is not the issue for her.
ssourgirl 151 Posted May 11, 2015 Could it possibly be something environmental? No, I don't think so. It was happening here and at the hospital too.

LSF 264 Posted May 11, 2015 ????bummer. Can they go back in to look at her sleeve? So much for the kidney stone being the culprit
ssourgirl 151 Posted May 11, 2015 Yeah, but she did get better at the hospital... and then it flared up again after you got back home. No, I don't think so. It was happening here and at the hospital too. Could it possibly be something environmental? She was in the hospital for 2.5 weeks before it got better. It only got better after the kidney stone was removed. This is what makes me think it has to do with the stent that is still in her ureter.
ssourgirl 151 Posted May 11, 2015 @@LSF they did a scope in the hospital and there is nothing physically wrong with the sleeve. The bariatric surgeon says it's rare but it does happen where there is severe nausea and vomiting for an unknown period of time with no issues with the sleeve. He and the GI Specialist both say it happens and then it goes away. What they can't tell us is how long it may last and what the cause of it is.
LSF 264 Posted May 12, 2015 Hmm. That's so strange. I'm going for a follow up next week with my surgeon, if I remember, I'll try to mention your story- I would like to get his feedback.
ShellMilliner 233 Posted May 12, 2015 @ssourgirl How is she doing today? I'm hoping things are improving.

ssourgirl 151 Posted May 13, 2015 Unfortunately the nausea and vomiting continues. She had the stent removed this morning. I'm still holding out hope that she will be better tomorrow. @@LSF thank you. If you remember, I sure would like to see what he says.
LSF 264 Posted May 13, 2015 I'm curious to see what my surgeon says. We are in Massachusetts and his views are so different than some other surgeons. He does not require a pre-op liquid diet and his post op diet progresses a little quicker than others. He did my band in 2008 and I only wanted to go to him for my revision. I followed him to his new practice last year.
ShellMilliner 233 Posted May 15, 2015 @@ssourgirl How are you both doing? I'm crossing my fingers there's been some improvement, but I'm worried since you didn't check in yesterday or today.
