desertgirl_74 114 Posted May 6, 2015 That's good news! I know it's apples and oranges, but I had really bad morning sickness for all 9 months of my first pregnancy. If I had nothing in my stomach the vomiting and dry heaves would continue until I ate. But of course I didn't want to eat because I was super nauseous. It was a vicious cycle some days. I read your posts frequently and I'm hoping this will be a turning point for your daughter.
Chrystee 838 Posted May 6, 2015 @@LSF Thanks for checking on her! They started her on IV nutrition last night (TPN.) She'd been vomiting over 20 times a day but so far, for some reason she's actually feeling better today! She is less nauseated and she's not vomited in over 24 hours. She was even able to sip some liquids today. They're baffled why the TPN would help with the nausea. I'm baffled why it took them so long to give them to her! We've been here 15 days, day 16 today. Yes, the surgery is scheduled for Thursday and we can possibly go home on Friday depending on how she's doing. We can do the TPN IV at home until she is able to start eating on her own. Um, probably because she has not had any nutrition in her stomach in 6 weeks!! I'm praying for her!
ssourgirl 151 Posted May 6, 2015 @cc4math @newbeginning77@desertgirl_74@Chrystee Thank you all! It really helps to have this support. Day 41 Post Op. She continued to do pretty well yesterday until she had a shower about 9:30pm. After the shower she started blacking out and threw up afterwards. Sigh. Well at least she got 24 hours in without vomiting. I'm still taking it as progress. She's still asleep this morning so I'm not sure how she's doing today but I think she's still better. ssourgirl 151 Posted May 7, 2015 6 weeks Post Op today. She had the 2nd surgery on the kidney stone today and they successfully got it! It had traveled back up towards the kidney so that thing was not going to come out on its own, that's for sure. It remains to be seen how/if this will affect the nausea and vomiting. I'm praying it was the cause of it all and she'll be nausea and vomit free after today! Thanks all for the thoughts and prayers.
ShellMilliner 233 Posted May 7, 2015 @@ssourgirl What great news! I'm so glad they were able to get it. Now that the pesky critter is outta there, I'm praying that she will bounce back quickly and start her recovery. Hang in there mama!
ssourgirl 151 Posted May 8, 2015 @@ShellMilliner Thank you! She's doing really well so far today. The nausea has diminished a great deal! She has even taken a few bites of food today and is drinking without nausea and vomiting! YAY! She's still on IV TPN but they are talking about discharging her tomorrow (she will still have IV at home until she can fully sustain food and drink.) I'm hopeful for the first time in a long, longggg time! .
