Hubby lost over 100lbs with a bypass almost 9 years ago, and his loose skin didn't bother me one bit. I know mine doesn't bother him too much, but when I am in a "certain" position for sexy time, I can hear and feel the loose skin on my stomach flapping away. And let's not even DISCUSS the boobs. I could kill myself with the sheer trajectory. Or at least blacken my eyes. Bothers me more than it does him.

My husband is muscular and in shape....nothing has changed that I'm aware of still just as in love :) maybe more so because I feel better. Our Anniversary is next week (Easter) We are going to a nice B&B in Eureka Springs Arkansas that next weekend. We will see how the sexy lingerie fitting goes?

No, doesn't bother me.

And the weird thing is that, 5 pounds from goal, the loose skin is actually starting to shrink. And I'm losing the fat around my tummy and even some from my underarms.

I would NEVER have bet that these changes would happen.

Am wondering now what it'll be like a year from now.

The only thing that bothers me is how long and flat my boobs are when released from my bra. That said, my husband still loves 'em and I don't care enough to go under the knife so...

My loose skin really bothered me. I don't have a husband, but I was very ashamed to be seen naked when I was almost at goal before plastics. I feel like once you love someone you don't care that much about loose skin, but when you meet someone new, the way you look is a major determinant on the possible future of the relationship. Of course, as I'm writing this I'm having a giant meltdown over the fact that my last plastics surgery, earlier this week, gave me a weird looking butt, and had I just left it alone, would I really be such a big yuck to look at naked? I traded loose skin for scars and possibly a messed up butt....so in the end, I traded one form of shame for another. I guess time will tell which was the better option.

@@AvaFern ...

I just read the thread you just started about your latest plastic surgery, and I'll remind you (and others reading this) that you're on some pretty good pain drugs right now.

I have a feeling that once the swelling goes down your new butt will look great.

;)

@@AvaFern that's a constant struggle for me. Do i want scars everywhere or do i want all the flab lose skin? Now I'm still early on in my journey but I'm always debating on what to do. Time will tell.

@@LipstickLady so far it bothers me in certain positions but hubby doesn't seem to mind at all lol.

I reached a state of acceptance with my loose skin but I needed it gone for a way different reason. I saw it as keeping around the 3X pair of stretched out sweat pants. Just didn't fit my life. I didn't really feel shame but I did dress to hide my arms etc.

I am 18 months post plastics and I make zero effort to hide my scars. I luckily have healed well, but you can see them. They are my badges of courage. I went dancing last night and felt like the bell of the ball in my sleeveless cute top and skinny miss me jeans.

My boyfriend at the time said "scars prove someone has actually lived a life". I doubt he knows how profound that was to me. My scars prove I have transformed my life into the one I want to live..I AM living a full life now. You don't need plastics for that, but I used to be MORE than twice my current weight and that was alot of excess skin and emotional baggage to carry around.. The skin removal was highly symbolic for me.

So I did not get the long thigh lift and my butt is pretty skinny. I thought about fixing those too but I am not driven to do it, my imperfect ass seems completely acceptable in my universe so I think I will keep it. :)

My husband doesn't care, just wants me healthy. Me too.

I probably wouldn't get skin removal on my belly, but I would love to get the bat wings clipped. I love beautiful arms and had them for a while in my thirties. My husband tells me I would make a lousy man because I lust after the wrong parts (by lust after, read want for myself )

My BFF shared with me that she uses her loose tummy skin to *ahem* "caress" her husband when she's in certain positions. She treats it as an extension of herself...he loves it, and she is unashamed/unapologetic about it. I think it's all about attitude.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
