PatchMD delivers Vitamins and nutrients via a transdermal patch. This can be a great route of delivery for bariatric patients as our bodies may not absorb whole pills as well. I have a friend who is using them and she's very happy. I have begun to use them. My only complaint is that sometimes my patch falls off. Otherwise, it beats the heck out of taking a handful of pills. I like that the nutrients are absorbed through your body over a 12-hour period. I believe this is preferable to bombarding my system with a handful of vitamins 3x a day. I just thought I'd pass along the info and the great savings they have going on, 40% off your order with code OH2015. Shipping is a flat fee of $5.99.

Has anyone else tried them?

I tried them for a week or so. Had no way to tell if they were working as advertised. I should have taken my labs before and after to test these. Wish there was more research available to show the efficacy of these Patches.< /p>

I'd love to see feedback that includes labs. I've had Vitamin issues my whole life. There are only a few brands that don't make me ill. I'll have to do a bit of research.

@@CTDEE @@Alex Brecher the friend that I told you about is part of a study that PatchMD is doing with WLS patients. They took labs before and will take them after. I have to follow up with her to see if she has had her after labs yet. I just had my labs pulled and everything is fine using my regular Vitamin protocol. Once I switch over to PatchMD for 3-6 months I will have them pulled again. Then I'll let all of you know. I will be a lab rat!

Awesome! Really looking forward to hearing about your results.

@@Alex Brecher why did you try them only for a week? Was there something that you did not like about them?

The only Vitamin I was (very slightly) deficient was Vitamin D. I find taking 1 daily chewable a lot more convenient.

@@Rocky1 what Vitamins are you taking that have been independently verified by scientific studies? as far as I know this doesn't happen, which is one of the big problems with nutritional supplements (they SHOULD be clinically proven!!!). beware of marketing disguised as science, which sometimes happens.

I printed out the nutrition facts from the label for the Multivitamin, which exceeds ASBMS guidelines, and it looks good to me -- except Iron is only 45mg and I take 60mg daily. I want to compare the patch nutrients to some of the Multivitamins I have been taking.

@@Rocky1 regarding Calcium and Iron I was not happy to see them combined, as you noted. opurity (unjury) does, too. i did not find any info on the website for studies on the Vitamins. but they are worth further consideration. one of these days when i have more energy i will compare the nutrition facts and route of delivery for the multis across several bariatric brands and the ASMBS guidelines.

good catch on the calcium citrate. i did not notice that. The vit D exceeds ASMBS guidelines. What is your issue with it? i have been taking D3 2000 iu twice daily but my labs came back that I was high. so I felt comfortable trying what is in the patch. we shall see! i take a ton of Vitamins because i feel better when i do. it would be so nice to reduce the amount of pills i take and just use the patch. but if i begin to feel lethargic etc then it is proof to me that my body needs more.

@@Rocky1 THAT is a very good question! My guess, and this is just my opinion, is that they do it for patient trust and comfort level in taking the product. And doctors trust, too. I believe far fewer docs would recommend it or patients take it if they said that it doesn't meet ASBMS guidelines but that's ok, it doesn't have to :-)

@@Rocky1 PS what is your concern about absorption? Transdermal works well in many prescription products so I hope it will work well for the Vitamins. That said I assume that not all Patches, the actual material itself as the way it performs, are equivalent. But it is what really attracted me to the product.

I liked them! I haven't had any labs done but I've felt fine with the patches. I do take supplemental liquid Iron drops as I feel better at a higher Iron level than most post-bariatric patients.

I wish you had taken your labs before and after the patches. I am looking at possibly running a clinical trial to prove/disprove their efficacy.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
