People are finding out

Recommended Posts

So I had VSG on 2/23 and I didn't tell many people, maybe just handful. Not even my closest friends. For some reason it wasn't something I wanted to talk about. Well when I got back to work I got lots of great feed back which was nice. I ended up telling a few people i work with because i work with a heavy girl and she was talking aboit getting surgery. I wanted to share my story so she knows how great it could be. Well now people are starting talk and now almost everyone knows. I'm angry a little cause I guess people are gossiping. I just don't know how to feel about all of it.

Well I guess there's really nothing you can do now but never tell that big mouth anything again. Lesson learned.

Idk it's a weird feeling. I'm proud of what I did but at the same time it's hard to talk about because it's so.personal. I'm not ashamed or at least I know I shouldn't be but I guess self conscious because I'm afraid people will judge

I know at times I didn't want people to know because I didn't want that pressure of "what if it doesn't work" everyone will know I failed ect...but I got over it. It's really not anyone's business to be talking about yours. They must be bored.

I think some people just find it really interesting. I had three close friends that all had gastric bypass and I questioned the crap out of them. I wanted to know everything the I Ended up having my own surgery so I don't mind talking to people about it.

Guess what? People talk about you each and every day of your life. You can't do a darn thing about it. Unless they have something to say to your face, don't sweat it. You don't owe anybody a single explanation for what you do with your body. Don't even waste the time and energy worrying about it.

@@jessjones5 - Don't be. You didn't do anything illegal or immoral. No need to be self conscious,

My co- workers have been very supportive but I do feel that extra pressure to be successful because I failed with my band.

I totally feel you. Everyone at work knows I had this done and I feel like they expect me to be 50 lbs down already, like I am being scrutinized daily or something! In reality, I haven't had anything but positive feedback and encouragement.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
