jessjones5 7 Posted March 28, 2015 So I had VSG on 2/23 and I didn't tell many people, maybe just handful. Not even my closest friends. For some reason it wasn't something I wanted to talk about. Well when I got back to work I got lots of great feed back which was nice. I ended up telling a few people i work with because i work with a heavy girl and she was talking aboit getting surgery. I wanted to share my story so she knows how great it could be. Well now people are starting talk and now almost everyone knows. I'm angry a little cause I guess people are gossiping. I just don't know how to feel about all of it.
Elode 8,093 Posted March 28, 2015 (edited) Well I guess there's really nothing you can do now but never tell that big mouth anything again. Lesson learned. Edited March 28, 2015 by Elode
jessjones5 7 Posted March 28, 2015 Idk it's a weird feeling. I'm proud of what I did but at the same time it's hard to talk about because it's so.personal. I'm not ashamed or at least I know I shouldn't be but I guess self conscious because I'm afraid people will judge

Elode 8,093 Posted March 28, 2015 (edited) I know at times I didn't want people to know because I didn't want that pressure of "what if it doesn't work" everyone will know I failed ect...but I got over it. It's really not anyone's business to be talking about yours. They must be bored. Edited March 28, 2015 by Elode
Elode 8,093 Posted March 28, 2015 I think some people just find it really interesting. I had three close friends that all had gastric bypass and I questioned the crap out of them. I wanted to know everything the I Ended up having my own surgery so I don't mind talking to people about it.

BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted March 28, 2015 Guess what? People talk about you each and every day of your life. You can't do a darn thing about it. Unless they have something to say to your face, don't sweat it. You don't owe anybody a single explanation for what you do with your body. Don't even waste the time and energy worrying about it. LSF 264 Posted March 28, 2015 My co- workers have been very supportive but I do feel that extra pressure to be successful because I failed with my band.
liannatx 897 Posted March 28, 2015 I totally feel you. Everyone at work knows I had this done and I feel like they expect me to be 50 lbs down already, like I am being scrutinized daily or something! In reality, I haven't had anything but positive feedback and encouragement.
