Finally Feeling it.

On the 23rd my doc brought me up to 5cc I had missed 2 visits due to ice and snow and lost 11lbs despite my treadmill breaking and no restriction, he was pleased. So finally I can feel this thing, I can still eat more than 4 ounces but there is a point where I am like WOE!! I can not eat another bite, I got the hiccups even. This morning I had 2 ounces of pepperoni cheese and a handful of cherry tomatoes. For lunch I had 2 chipotle chicken kabobs and some jalopenos, I had a hand ful of peanuts as a snack which my Dr. ok'd I was under the impression I wasn't supposed to eat peanuts, he also ok'd Peanut Butter but told me to be very careful of portion size and added sugar, And again not too long ago I had about 2ounces of cheese, the Chicken kabobs were what made me really full, I'd say they were 8oz of food total. Has anyone out there decided that they didn't want so much restriction that it limited them to 4 oz of food, I'm just happy that when I eat I'm satified for a really long time.

Hiccups are one of my signs to stop eating....people around me say "drink some water...they'll go away" little do they know the reason behind them and if I did drink Water, especially at that point, it would not be pretty....

As you get restriction, you will also have to become more and more aware of what you're eating in terms of what works with the band...not necessarily calories, but types of foods...for instance, Peanut Butter for me will not pass through the band very easily....but it s something I love to add to my morning smoothies...along with a banana and maybe some chocolate.< /p>

I also have to be careful of cheese....those things, no matter how well you chew, they still go down as "Gobs"

You learn new things as you go along.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

      Woohoo! I have 7 more days till surgery, So far I am already down a total of 20lbs since I started this journey.
