I am trying to drink the Protein Drinks but they make my stomach churn. And the broth is so disgusting. I want to keep my Protein up so I scrambled me an egg today and it went down good and stayed down. The only thing is my surgeon still wants me on full liquids. I've read that some allow eggs at this stage and some don't.... did anyone else eat eggs/mashed potatoes a week out?

Be careful with the food. When I was allowed to have eggs they went down fine and then the next time not so much. Try not to skip ahead.

If you are having trouble with the shakes, call your nutritionist and review alternative before skipping ahead.

Morning.

The reason they have you on clear liquids for 2 weeks afterwards is because your stomach is still healing. If you put food into your new stomach, those tiny pieces could get lodged into where the sutures are and cause infection. Also, this is the time where they find if there is a leak.

You should do what your surgeon told you to do. If you become ill by infection, then now you have caused a bigger problem. so would eggs be worth that pain.

Yup really soft scrambled. I take 1 egg, whisk it really well. I then add ½tsp of greek yogurt and whisk that in. This helps keep them moist, but you can use a tiny bit of milk if you prefer. I also sprinkle just a little bit of shredded cheese. Then I either cook in a non stick pan on a low heat stirring constantly or I microwave for 1minute, stir and microwave for another 10 seconds if necessary.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
