Anything that didn't bother my stomach. Mine varies from day to day but I was cleared for anything I wanted at that point.

I was cleared to eat all foods as tolerated from 6 weeks on. Be careful eating cheese, you don't want to get backed up.

I'm starting to eat shredded cheese too. What does backed up mean?

Backed up means constipated. I eat cheese as well, but I eat a balanced diet of fruit and veg as well. OP seem to indicate that she was using cheese as her main Protein. That could lead to Constipation.< /p>

Yes I have learned my lesson from eating too much cheese! All meat even in gravy and lunch meat makes my stomach hurt. I need to come up with some alternatives.

I am cleared for everything except raw vegetables at this point. The problem is most times when I try something new it feels terrible.

I'm kinda the same way... I can't hardly eat any meats so I don't I eat a lot of cheese but take Fiber mix in my drink every day and since I can't eat the meat and need the Protein I've been eating vegan burgers or chicken patties. I love them but then again I ate them BEFORE I even had surgery. I can eat veggies but they have to be mush practically. I think that you should just try lil thing and see what is tolerated the best. Honestly all you can really do right! I'm sure you will figure out what you can and can not handle. Ask your nut too for suggestions. Like avocados and egg whites. I can't eat the yoke but whites are ok with me. mush fruits like bananas and Water based fruits like watermelon.

You could try Beans. They will add carbs, but they are a good source of Protein. Lentils, black Beans and split peas have the highest Protein. You can blend them in a Soup or eat them whole. I sometimes have black beans with a sunny side up egg and a slice of avocado. Lentils I like in a Soup with onions and mushrooms. Split peas I make a chunky soup and garnish with pepitas and a scoop of Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. Good thing about beans is they won't make you constipated

Be careful of bananas - they are high in sugar. I think Apples & bananas have the highest amount of sugar, but I'd have to google to confirm.

I also added raw spinach to my smoothies early on. Since they were pulverized they weren't hard to digest.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
