I had lap band surgery in early February and have lost 25 pounds to date. The weight loss has been slow, however, the last two times I went in for a band adjustment, I have become very sick to my stomach. This last time I have noticed I am having a hard time keeping down liquids, as solids is not a option right now. I have also been experienceing when sleeping waking up coughing, which leads to throwing up.

If I have them take out the saline they just put in, it appears my weight loss has come to a end. I'm now second guessing this procedure, and am ready to give up - has anyone else has any similiar experience - please advise.

Mercy,

I would re-post this in another thread. I think you will get more response.

If you are not keeping things in you need to take some saline out. If you continue to vomit, you are risking the band slipping and you definitely don't want that. They can take SOME of the saline out without completely emptying the band, don't give up. You are probably just overfilled this time. A little out will help keep things down. Don't second guess yourself. Sometimes, it's a process to get everything "just right". You'll get there.

Please call your surgeon and tell him/her what you are experiencing and your fears.

Keep us updated.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
