I wouldn't do that on purpose... i was just curious. And if a third surgery is what it takes, then so be it.

i can relate to that.... I kept the same thing in my band for a long time. Then out of the blue it got tight. I couldn't keep supper down and sometimes my lunch. I too had terrible reflux. So a few weeks ago i had had enough and went to my Dr. and had a 1cc un fill and i feel much better. I sometimes have trouble, but i know it's my fault for eating too fast and wrong items.

My friend and mentor Paula had the same thing... She recently had her band removed and sleeved. She said she feels so much better. I am happy for her.

Like i said about my SIL, GB worked for her ... For now anyway.

Are you thinking of revising to the sleeve ? Unfortunately there are no guarantees but there have been many who have done amazing with the sleeve after the band, I wish I had been one of them.

No, but Lord forbid if something happened it would be on my list.

If at first you don't succeed... Try try and try again. Lol

I have heard that some "large sleevers" have added a lap band for more restriction. It is a thought. I am so very sorry that you are going through all of this frustration! I would be pretty upset if I found out that my surgeon screwed up.

Good luck that is a tough one. If you are following the bible to a T and getting your exercise in then you should see results. The only thing I see is your cal intake is a little high, I am 5 months out and barely get 1000 cal a day and I am an active guy. Not a marathon runner but active workout every day and am an coach high school athletic coach (football and baseball) I walk about 3 miles a day not counting what I do on the elliptical at the gym which is about 2 miles at an 8:30 mile pace. Try to cut back to 1000 cal and cut out the starchy vegetables. Other than that sounds like you are doing everything right. Good Luck to you.

My current weight is 180, my BMI is 30.9, my highest weight ever was 260, I know after living with a very restrictive band for so long that my body got used to less calories, I'm willing to do my part, I still go to Crossfit 3x a week and try hard to eat right, but I know I need a tool and right now I don't have one. Iv had a continuous slow gain since I revised to sleeve, it's just a matter of time until I put it all back on if I don't do this.

I'm on my second band and am trying to get a revision to RNY approved. The reason I'm going with RNY is because I'm worried about exactly what you're posting about. I know my metabolism is completely messed up, between my PCOS and the band. Unfortunately, I'm going to be starting almost from scratch, because I've regained almost everything I lost with the band (I went from 225 to 135, and I'm back to 211 now).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
