A lean cuisine meal isnt the most nutrious meal you can have.....contains alot of sodium which makes you hold Fluid and not lose weight. ALSO, some people lose weight slower than others. Personally, I woud go back and start over. Start a 5 day liquid diet, then go up to soft foods and stay in the 1000-1200 calorie range, 70-80 grams of Protein, no more than 50 grams of carbs a day. GOOD LUCK & I hope everything works out for you!!

You know, it's funny, because even those in the medical/health care profession who deal with WLS (or just weight loss in general) before and after are not all on the same page with regard to food that is okay and food that is not okay. My NUT before my lap band surgery had a room full of empty boxes of the frozen diet dinners along with the requisite plastic food. These were all foods you were encouraged to eat and their portions.

I would personally question the professional credibility of anyone who suggested I eat processed chemicals that came frozen in a box lol but that may just be me ..I like the motto if you can't pronounce it, don't eat it ????

And yet most places will readily tell you to use artificial sweeteners. There is an entre industry of bariatric foods full of artificial ingredients. I actually had to prove I could eat a whole food, mostly plant based diet.

*SMH*

Where did it say the OP was told to eat Lean Cuisines?

No one said she was told to eat a Lean Cuisine. She said she could eat one.

My question wasn't directed at you. It was directed at a few others that seemed to infer she was.

Can't speak for everyone here, but I was speaking on the conversation about the types of foods some nutritionist okay in general. OP said she eats them, not that the nutritionist told her to. Honestly I doubt the she has seen one to know if this was recommended or not since she stated she hasn't had a follow up for some time.

I had a gastric sleeve 2 years ago with minimal sucess. My surgeon is pushing me to have the SIPS procedure. Anyone out there with experience with this surgery?

@@SOPHIAAGETTYS80 Shortly after I posted, you wrote, " I'm currently eating 12-1300 cals a day... I can eat about 1 Lean Cuisine serving size easily."

As you await your records, see if your doctor would advise you to cut your calories back a bit, maybe to 1,000-1,200.

And, clarification, please: Are you actually eating a Lean Cuisine [daily/regularly], or did you mention that to give us an eyeball idea of the volume of food you can eat? As I read it, you didn't really say you "eat" a Lean Cuisine, you referenced the serving "size," which might have been for our benefit to comprehend your food volume capability. [??]

As you await your surgical records, check with your current team re: maybe cutting your calories back to 1,000-1,200; and if you are actually eating a lot of Lean Cuisines...maybe don't. Some don't do well with processed foods. Natural and fresh is much better, and better for us all. [Ex: I can't do Splenda. It blocks my weight loss, so early on, I had to stop the early-phase Protein products/drinks, etc.]

Also, if you are considering more surgery, you may want to look into revising to bypass rather than making your sleeve smaller. There are a lot of people with sleeves on these boards who end up revising to bypass (I'm not saying the sleeve doesn't work for lots of people!) It seems you still have a lot of weight you want to lose and that may work for you better.

I agree, from what I've been reading the best option for revising after the sleeve if anyone is looking to go that route is the MGB, I'm tentatively scheduled for this in April.

I agree with everyone else about the mild narrowing. I think the doctor didn't completely sleeve you. The follow-up doctor will be able to tell you more. Why did you not have a follow-up appointment?

Didn't make the flight to Honolulu for followup. It was a mess. I was living in Kona and the main hospital and all the Specialists were in Honolulu. I had to fly back and forth, the day of my followup happened to be a busy day at the Kona airport and I was in the security line for over 3 hrs. Usually it takes 5 mins to get through but this day was just not a good one. I was scheduled for the next flight but the Dr's office said they couldn't see me even if I got there. So I tried to reschedule and got a ton of run around. It was Aug when I moved back here to NM aka the mainland. The whole system in Hawaii was really fustrating with communication since we were on different islands... I had the people in my local support group and no complications thank God, so I just went with it. It wasn't until now that I'm a yr out almost and my fellow gastric surgery companions are posting thier weight loss pics and such that I'm feeling really left behind. So I found our Dr here at the hospital where I work and thank goodness he agreed to take me on. Really I feel so much better now that I have a MD! lol Thank you all for your repsonses and supportive comments! I'll keep you informed! Lots of great info! I do not eat Lean Cuisines lol btw, I have eaten them in the past and when using a reference for potions I can eat that was the first that came to mind.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
