Protein helps curb your hunger. At least it does for me. While you are on liquids drink Protein shakes such as the Syntrax nectar (individual packs until you figure out what flavors you like) & Premier Protein. I was a bit nauseated in the first 2 or 3 weeks & drank Unjury's chicken Soup. I helped me a lot & has a lot of Protein.< /p>

When I was allowed to have soft foods I ground up chicken & mixed it with Mayonnaise. I also ate (& still do) tuna & Salmon, hard boiled eggs & cottage cheese. I fight "head hunger" a lot so I try & make sure I am getting 60+ grams of protein in.

Good luck with your journey. You will be glad you did this. It's not easy to follow the food rules so hang in there.

I know how you feel. I had my surgery on the 10th. I have just been trying to keep my eye on the prize. I am not giving up and i will not allow myself to fail. You will be fine. Once we are eating regular food we will feel satiated. i get 90g of Protein a day and sometimes i need more than liquid in my stomach. I feel the grinding of hunger and it sucks but I know that once we are allowed to really eat that will go away. You are in my thoughts. I feel your pain. Keep your head up.

How many days out are you allowed to start purees? I think I was at 18 days post-op? If you can just hang in there a little while longer with the liquids. Definitely try to get Protein in the form of shakes or drinkable yogurt. That will help you feel more full.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
