Don't ever let anyone tell you "you can't do this" ...not even yourself. I am the perfect example of the band being a TOOL not an easy way out. I struggled like hell to slim down and still do. I still have to count calories and go to the gym. I have days where I am tired. I have days where I am hungry. And I have times where the scale fluctuates. But I'm never giving up! To anyone that thinks the band is an easy fix, it's not. I thought maybe it would be too. But after my initial weight loss from surgery, I realized it was not enough. I lost 80 total and I can say only about 30 was a result of surgery. But it gave me the drive to press on. To eat better, and gave me the confidence to get in the gym. Please message me if you have any questions, especially related to nutrition or workouts. I would love to help on your journey. I'm still on mine :)

Congratulations and continued success. I'm over 4 years out as well and it is still not easy. We still have to watch what and how much we eat. It is a weekly sometimes daily struggle. Anyway, keep up the great work.

We have an expression in our house, "these human bodies!" I don't think I had any idea what is really required for maintaining a healthy body. For any one, fat or slim. If it's not one thing it's another -- dentist, eye doctor, PT exercises, skin care regime, the regular exercise, etc. Thank goodness I got my band as I'm so much healthier going into middle older age (eek!).

Hey, well done on your journey. Your looking great. I am hoping to book to have the band fitted in Poland. And wanting to get any advise in terms of real experiences people have had after surgery. How long to recover and till you start seeing result. I have done endless research but sometimes feel I'm reading the same things. Would be nice to hear from others who have been through the surgery

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
