I need a Sleeve Buddy! ASAP

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved 12.3.2013:

At my heaviest I was 339lbs

Surgery Day I was 332lbs

Today I am 223 (was 222 but apparently gained a pound..yikes!)

I have been 222-222 since my wedding day 9.21.2014

I know why:

#1 I have NOT been sticking to my diet

#2 I have NOT been exercising like I should be

The worst part: I seem to be eating more & more each day & my food cravings have returned full force!

Physically, my body gets full. Psychologically, I am never completely satisfied anymore.

I miss the days when I would eat 2-3 bites of food, feel full, & not want to think about food for several hours. Now after I finish Breakfast all I do is think about lunch!

HELP!

That's scares me! That's exactly what I don't want to happen! I would be your buddy but I'm still in that stage so I don't know how much help I would be...I would probably just be annoying :)

Thanks for your honesty about life further out from surgery. I'm not as far out from surgery but I'm pretty motivated in this part of my weight loss. If I can help let me know.

@@segatz80 - My surgery was 11/10/14 so I'm still learning my limitations and not sure how much help I can be. But I do know, and would like to suggest -- get back to doing what you know you should be doing to get all your Protein in and your physical activity. I know some days it is hard to stay the course, but we have to do it for the rest of our lives, and for the BEST of our lives. You may even want to talk to someone about any psychological food issues you may be having - maybe the person you had your psych eval with, or a health coach through your insurance company, or an EAP counselor if your employer has an EAP program.

YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

From Beck Diet Solutions website for March 24, 2015 - Tuesday Reality Check

Don't be overly influenced by the number on the scale. If you see a higher number, you may get demoralized and overeat. If you see a lower number, you may think that it’s okay to loosen up and eat more. Remember – the number on the scale is just one point of information and shouldn’t impact how you eat on any given day.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
