Calories Per Day Vs Exercise

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, i have been exercising 6 days a week and 2 hours a day. Two weeks ago i ate 800-900 calories per day and lost 7lbs, then last week i eat about 500-600 per day and only lost 3lbs. My question is how many calories is everyone eating, how much exercise are you doing, and can you see a difference in your weight lose per week?

I exercise about the same, 6 days a week and really try to keep my calories around 900-1000 per day. Honestly with all of the exercise we are still not taking in enough calories but it is hard. I tried to supplement this by eating a bit more lean beef that is higher in calories than turkey or chicken. Your weight loss with increase if you increase your calories to about 1000-1200 per day. I also increased my Protein to about 120 grams per day. The only way for me to do this was to supplement with 2 Protein shakes - one in the morning and one post workout. The Protein has really helped with muscle recovery.

I'm at at ~1000 calories per day, and alternate exercising between 90 and 120 minutes per day, six days each week. I ride a bike each day, then add 30 minutes of strength training three days a week. I'm consuming >100g Protein and <100g carbs. I'm two weeks post-op and need to increase calories and protein to avoid burning lean muscle, but I just moved off liquid today so one step at a time.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
