Son of a...

Apparently, I missed my first nutrition class. I was told that they are held on the 2nd and 4th weeks of the month. To me, that means the 2nd FULL week. But no. Apparently, the two days that ended the last week in May and began June count as the first week. So, my class was this week instead of next week. :)

I called the nutritionist to confirm that the meeting was next week, on the 13th, but found out that the class was this past Wednesday. Luckily, since my surgery is going to be on July 3rd, the nutritionist is going to do a private class with just me, right before the second class that I have to go to.

You know, instead of saying that the meetings will be on the second and fourth weeks, they should give DATES. Because, damn it, two days does not make a week!

Well yeah . Two days !!! That is stupid.

I am so glad she will work with you.

I don't want any delay for you.

Best wishes,

I didn't have to go to nutrition class. I didn't have to do stupid diets to prove my moral worth for the lapband. I just went to Mexico where they are interested in dirty old money, not moral superiority. I don't think I'd ever get a lapband in the U.S.

I agree, who in their right mind would think that when they say a week it would mean two days. I guess you and I attended the wrong schools when we were younger. Maybe you let them know, firmly but kind, to use dates for others that attended the same schools. How absurd. Congrats to you on your private class and up coming surgery.

Bitter,

My surgeon was just interested in money too here in Kentucky USA.

I was offered nutrition advice after banding (free for a year).

Just FYI.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
