Bndtoslv 292 Posted March 23, 2015 I am doing a 2 step revision. How long and how painful is the removal? Will presenting at a conference one week later be possible? Thanks!
alwaysvegas 702 Posted March 23, 2015 Each of us has a different recovery rate, so you may or may not be up to presenting a week later.
LSF 264 Posted March 24, 2015 I've read on previous posts that for just the removal recovery was pretty quick. I had a revision in 1 surgery. My recovery was VERY quick. I felt fine by day 2 but took 2 weeks off from work because the surgeon recommended it. I really could have gone back after a week. My boss was prepared to have me work 1/2 days if needed when I returned but I was fine
melissa808 5 Posted March 26, 2015 Every patient and every surgeon is different. I had a band, revision of band, band removal and finally the sleeve. Not trying to make u nervous but I had the most pain after removal. The surgeon said it's is because of a large amount of scar tissue that forms around the band and port that needs to be removed. I did go back to work after 3 days but still had pain for a week or two.
