I know this has been asked but just curious how your tattoos look after the sleeve. I'm hoping to get sleeved come November (my 6 months of medically supervised diet is up in September).

I have a tattoo on my ribs that I got when I was thinner so I'm not too worried about that one--but I have a sugar skull on my upper arm and am concerned with how it will look after a (hopefully) 100+ lb weight loss.

All the fat seems to be under my arm but you never know. Any insight is helpful!

I have 4 tattoos, none of which were impacted by my sleeve. I have two on my lower back, one on the top of my foot, and one on the inside of my right leg, just above my ankle. The ones at the bottom of my back were most at risk I suppose (they are reaaallly low) and they look just the same.

I've got one on my lower back, one on my ankle and one on my forearm. None of them changed after losing 100 pounds. The one on my lower back would probably be ruined if I ever got a butt lift, but that's not in the plan for now. The skin on my upper arms tightened up pretty well, so I don't think a tattoo there would have been an issue.

I actually just got a new one (we ran out of time so it's only 3/4 done) under my collarbone and up unto my shoulder. I was originally going to get the new one on my side/ribs, but I've got enough loose skin there I was afraid it would get wrinkly as I get older.

I have a dragon with lots of fine lines on my deltoid that has weathered the 95 pound loss really well. That's a very "solid" area to begin with. I think it looks better now, actually.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
