Does water in protein count?

My surgeon wants me to have between 48-60 ounces of Water a day and 60g of Protein. Although I can't stomach that much protein I do about 25g per day. Now I drink 40 ounces a day of plain water and 8 ounces of water in my Protein Shake. Would that count as 48 altogether? I know this is probably nitpicking but it's hard getting down all of that! Thanks guys!

Yes. All of you liquid counts towards your total ounces so count away !!!!

Yes, my surgeon & nutritionist both said that Protein Shakes do double duty: Protein & Fluid intake.
