Recommended Posts

Hi!

Can you please share with me what a typical day of your meals are? I'm just curious what everyone is eating once they moved into regular foods.

Thanks!!

I will tell you what I have planned. It defiantly doesn't mean that it will stay down. I am 9 weeks out and struggle to get my Protein and Water in. Nothing tastes good and my pouch is super picky.

breakfast: premier Protein shake

lunch: 2 pieces of turkey rolled up with shredded cheese in the middle. cook on the stove to melt the cheese

dinner: 1 ounce of buffalo ranch chicken with 5 Keebler low fat crackers

snack: Yoplait whipped greek yogurt and a bottle of Protein h2O Water.< /p>

This should get me close to my 60 grams of protein.

I am 5 months post op, I eat half of a Jimmy Deans Delight honey wheat English muffin with bacon, egg and cheese for Breakfast 105 calories. 9 or 10 grs of Protein. Or packet of grits, Quaker oats. I usually eat s 250 calorie or less lean cuisine for lunch some of these have as many as 20 grams of protein. And my dinner is whatever I would normally feed my family, just small portions.

I am 3 months post-op and I switch off between turkey, fish, and crab for my Proteins. chicken doesn't agree with me anymore. Here is a common day:

0630-0700: super multigrain Quakers banana walnut oatmeal w/ 30g scoop of Protein

1100-1100: 1/2 cup of Caesar salad (no croutons) or left overs (eggplant parmesan or enchilada soup)

1500-1600: Quest or Think Thin Protein Bar or mashed potatoes

1900-1930: one of the meats listed above and some veggies

If I'm up late, I might have a sugar free desert a few hours later.

I have lost 53lbs since surgery and my surgeon seems to be happy with my progress.

Un only a 1 week and I have to drink very small, I can only imagine how long is going to take me to eat! How long it take you to eat at 3 months. I'm going back to work on march 30 and I only have 1 hr lunch break I don't want to spent the all hr eating lol.

Today I had coffee with a scoop of Protein powder for breakfast

lunch was a Hilary's black bean & adzuki burger with a bit of shredded cheese topped with a sunny side up egg & salsa

dinner was 1 cup of homemade cabbage & white bean Soup. I added half a scoop of unflavored Protein Powder to the broth.

I'm 6mths in & a vegetarian. According to myfitnesspal my calories for today are 741, carbs 41 & Protein 92. Sunday is my lazy day so I eat light.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
