quadmom 0 Posted June 8, 2007 I am tentatively scheduled for surgery on 6/13 (still waiting for authorization). I will be staying overnight in the hospital after surgery. How will I feel on Thursday? Only reason I ask is my 4 year old is graduating pre-k on Thursday and is it totally unreasonable to think I will attend? I am assuming I will not be going, but I'd figure I'd ask those who have been through it........................How do you feel and how soon afterwards do y ou feel ok? edieparks 2 Posted June 8, 2007 I know you hate to miss it. I would not suggest traveling so soon. If you were in a accident even a little one with your band so new... Is there a chance the school is just across the street? edie
Serena 0 Posted June 8, 2007 Quadmom, I was banded on June 4. I felt great--no gas and no pain medication at all. I was sore but I was able to walk all over the hospital. When I got home I "crashed" a little. I didn't sleep much in the hospital so I guess the fatigue and "anesthesia hangover" keep me sleeping most of day 3. You are young (so your body rids itself of anesthesia faster) and you must be quite accustomed to sleep deprivation (in the last 7 months at least!) so I bet you can wing it. Good luck! ragdollx19 1 Posted June 8, 2007 I did not feel wonderful the day after, I was pretty tired and it hurt to sit and stand. If my childs graduation were close to where I was I think i would absolutely try to attend for a few minutes. Those things dont usually last too long anyway. I guess I am just really sentimental too though. You can always plan on going but just wait and see how you feel! Have someone else go with a camera if you cant attend. They are so darn cute at that age!
