Starting weight 350

Weight at surgery 330

Surgery Date April 12, 2012

Reached 280 by August 2012 with one fill

October 2012 had a second fill.

I have remained at 280 up until July 2014.

Started gaining weight July 2014

Current weight 313

Had my third fill March 17, 2015

At this point I feel like I am starting all over again. I admit that I feel off the "band" wagon and let my emotions and stress get the best of me. I didn't care about my eating and didn't exercise at all. I was at a point where I was eating like I didn't have a band. I could eat so much and was hungry all the time.

After all the weight gain and my eating habits my doctor gave me a huge fill. I was filled with 5 cc of liquid and I already can feel it working. I am still on liquids only. I was allowed to eat a yogurt today and I could not eat the whole thing. I got so full.

I am eating healthy again and working out, I feel great!!!!!!

So now that I am back, Does anyone have any tips? Anyone been here before?

My goal weight is two fold: I want to reach 250 by this fall, Then 200 by spring. I will be satisfied with 200 for my Lifetime!!!!

Hurray for you!!! Thanks for your inspiring post today. Never ever ever give up on yourself. The beauty of the band is it lets us knuckle down and reset when we need to. It helps so much to have proper fill.

Please stay connected here and we will keep each other motivated. Rock your band!

@@JustWatchMe Thanks for the feedback. One of the reasons I posted here is for the connection and motivation. Sometimes I feel alone in this and to know that others out there are in the same struggle I am is reassuring.

@@laizaone1 you are in the right place for connection and motivation! So glad you are here. Sometimes the Cosmic Clock is off a little bit -- readiness can be an issue. You are so ready now and I'm so happy for you. Choose yourself first; you are worth it.

I was in a similar situation. Was banded in June 2013. Started at 289 and got down to probably 240. Had to have a revision surgery due to a leak in my port.went back to my old ways of eating. I weighed a few weeks ago at 266. I totally recharged. Went back and started following all my rules. Exercising every day. Logging all my food getting in my Protein .I feel so much better and I already lost over10 pounds in two weeks. So my advice is to just go back to the beginning following all of your rules and do this before more time passes if I can do it anyone can.

I was banded February 2012. I have been pretty frustrated here lately with the lack of weight loss after gaining 26 pounds back. I started at 237, was 219 at surgery. I got down to 170, and I went back up to 196 in a years time. I am now down to 187, but it's moving along SOOOO SLOWLY! I try to only weight myself once a week, but some days its hard to not take a peek! I needed some motivation, so I came here to take a look and find some help...and here you are!

So, off I go to do what I knew I needed to do, but needed to hear it from someone else! Back to basics!

Thanks for the help!

I'm a firm believer that I rely on the band to loose weight. I have tried to do it myself, motivated, focused...whatever, it simply did not work....perhaps temporary, but it always came right back...and then some with a vengeance!

But, with weight loss surgery, I was able to loose weight...ALL the weight. And I will keep it off....can't see how I will ever gain it back, except to say something should go wrong and I would need Fluid taken out....and I read posts such as that all the time, where people have gained weight after some other problem, where the Fluid needed to be taken out.

So, whenever I read posts, I am one that is always asking "What about the band?" "Why isn't the band working?"

I say that, because I KNOW from first hand experience, the Band DOES WORK!

There is a reason we needed surgery!

So as I read your post, that is the way I looked at it. And first thing I noticed was 3 fills in 3 years? And you did not say how much each fill was.....except the last fill was 5cc's...Finally!

(I know someone who had 10 fills, but each one was only 1/2cc...)

I know we should not compare ourselves to one another, and do things just because other people do it.....but we can see and read other people's experiences. and in some ways perhaps relate.......

I had 3 fills in 3 months!!! and the total mount was higher than you have in 3 years....Fortunately my Dr. was very clear on what our goal was....first to have the band installed, then to get it adjusted and working!

Also, where you have gained weight in those 3 years, I gained weight within one of those 3 months....

Being motivated, focused, and having desire to loose weight was never my problem....I've lost weight 100's of times only to have it come back...and then more!

There was a reason I needed to have weight loss surgery....and it was not to get motivated.

I guess what I'm saying is the "BAND DOES WORK!" There are many people that have come though here who found 100% success!

I do not see where you have failed in the least bit!!! I do not see where you did anything wrong....the only thing I see that is sad is that you..(or your Dr. I should say)..., waited 3 years to to get the band working....

But it appears you and your Dr. are finally getting it done.

Just know, this Band surgery does work! We just have to let it, and learn how to live (differently) with it....a new life with a new lifestyle....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
