Sleeved today March 18

Recommended Posts

I'm not in pain, just really sore on my left side. I quit taking pain meds yesterday bc I can't stand the taste of liquid lortab!!! I've gotten all my Protein in last 2 days but can only get in about 32-36 oz of fluids.

CONGRATS! Just be careful hanging out on the interwebs - you're more affected by those surgery drugs than you may realize - I sent complete nonsense to my boss at work when I tried to let her know all went well :)

Ditto. I felt just fine, but my sister reported that our FaceTime conversation about 4 hours postop was pretty entertaining!

Not sure if anyone can answer a couple questions. I had my sleeve 3/17. Came home 3/18. Still have lots of gas and pain on the side. Has anyone had any of these issues, can't poop, sleep and hard to breathe when laying down?

Need to keep using your breathing thingy they give you at the hospital to keep your lungs operating well. And walk walk walk. Every hour or two. It will get the gas out that they put in during surgery.

Don't mean to be graphic, but the only "movements" I've had have been of the liquid kind - I guess liquid in, liquid out is what I should expect.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
