:help:Today is day nine after banding and I am suddenly quite hungry. I go tomorrow for my post op and they are going to switch me to the pureed or mushies diet. I feel like I could go to the kitchen and eat a sandwich!! Of course I wont. But does anyone have any suggestions for tonight? I am fighting the impulse!!

Okay so maybe I'm over exaggerating but this "feels" odd for some reason. Not sure if it's the gas pain or what but let me tell you whatI'm feeling. If I lie flat for a little while and I go to get up I feel the port or something sort of like drop or fall or move. I don't know what the heck it is. Can anyone shed any light on this area for me???? Also does anyone know if lying on my side is okay??? These probably sound like the most ridiculous questions ever and I apologize but I'm just a little anxious!! Tanks for your input.....

I had no problems laying on my side. And i was never told not to. I guess let your your body tell you. if it hurt don't but if not go ahead. And as far as feeling anything move i guess i didn't but it did not take long for me to find my port. When you find it it really feels kinda strang like a really large egg. I would of never thought it would feel so big. Hope this helps!!!!

Stacy

man i could NOT lay on either side until about seven days out (both times) I think its normal. Ive always been really sensitive on my sides anyway before this.

As for post band/pre fill hunger known as bandster hell, :) , Protein!!!! high Protein Shakes, Protein power, tofu, eggs, mushed Beans, anything high protein will definitely help your hunger cravings. load up on protein early in the day and it will help keep you from grazing during your day. Good Luck!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
