If you have met your goal weight....

Have you ever been in the size you are in now (in your adult life). Like if you are a size 8, were you ever an 8 as an adult? Make sense?

I'm 18 lbs from goal weight and down 53 lbs since surgery. I pulled out my size 12's and they are actually big at this point. I do have size 10's in storage and I suspect that's where I'll end up once I hit goal. And yes, I've been as low as a size 8 in the past, but don't plan to get down to the 120 lbs I weighed when I was that size.

No - I am at a point now that is smaller then when I finished high school and started college.

It's a bit weird to say - but I'm smaller then I've ever been in my adult life - smaller then when I got married.

Yes. I weigh 153 now and I weighed anywhere from 149-163 from 6th grade (11years old?) until I was 29 years old. (Note: I went through puberty really early and have been my adult height of 5'7" since 5th grade.) I slowly started gaining weight in my 30's post children. Did you have a specific question about this? I can tell you that clothing sizes have changed a great deal. A modern size 8 is equivalent to a size 12 that I wore in the 80's and 90's. I have boxes of old clothes I kept in storage that I compare. I'm currently a modern size 8 and I can't fit into some of my old size 12 and 14 pants from the 1980s!!!! Not that I would wear those pants out of the house anyway! Still questioning why I kept them all of these years?!? It's funny to go back in time though! Shoulder pads are sill awful!

Obese since childhood, I was sleeved at 47 years old. I'd gotten close to a healthy weight (for no longer than a few months) only a couple of times in my adult life through dieting. I think the smallest I can recall was a size 10, and it didn't last long! Today, I hang out in a 4\6. I concur, vanity sizing is a "thing" if you grab something from a thrift store or out of the back of your closet that's 10-15 years old, it's likely to be a size off, (smaller). I weigh less today than I did in Jr. High. I never would have though it possible.

I was an obese child too. I did get trim in my early 20s and wore a bigger size than I do now, but i was actually smaller or same size. Sizes have changed. At 22, I weighed about 140-145 and wore size 9/10. I now weigh about 155 and wear 6/8 range pants. I don't think i am slimmer now, I think vanity sizing kicked in...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
