My body seems to jerk when I'm at rest. Does anyone else's do that after surgery? It holds me awake and hurts like inside is trading war.

That's normal reaction to surgery. Try to rest and sleep as much possible

Here's a strange remedy for restless leg syndrome (which may or may not work for your situation, but it won't hurt to try!!!), place a bar of soap (I told you it was strange!) beneath you bottom sheet (the fitted sheet) and your mattress. Place it under where your knees are. It works for the restless legs, maybe it'll work for your jerks! I know the minute I put it in the bed, for me, my legs/body is then calmed. What can it hurt to try for your situation? Good luck to you and all who suffer....

Like your jumping off a mountain? Lol I had it too. It was almost funny. I would jerk so hard I'd wake the hubby, the dog, and myself up. It also doesn't feel great on your new tummy but it's definitely completely normal after surgery. :)

So it's not just me? I was jerking so violently it would definitely make me start over in trying to fall asleep. That lasted about 4 or 5 days after surgery then quit thank goodness.

I believe this is called a myclonic jerk. I may have spelled it wrong. It's normal for the body to do it when you're about to fall asleep because it's making sure you're doing that and not dying. So it's actually a good thing!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
