uni2424 48 Posted March 18, 2015 I am 2 weeks out today and last night I turned wrong in my sleep and was yelling in pain. This morning I am really sore on my stomach and just don't feel good. I am hoping I just strained myself but has anyone had a tear at this point? I am worried I might have done something worse.
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted March 18, 2015 It took me a few weeks to be able to sleep comfortably in any position and be able to move around in bed without pain. If you are worried there is something seriously wrong, you should get in touch with your surgeon. Good luck to you!
Elode 8,093 Posted March 18, 2015 If you think you've done any damage and it still hurts call your DR.
CanyonBaby 1,852 Posted March 18, 2015 Always call the Dr. if you are concerned. Try putting pillows around your torso at night, in bed, to prevent you from turning so much. Prop them where you tend to turn. It might be enough to stop you from hurting yourself while you are healing. Worked for me! Oh, I am SUCH A PRO at this (I've had 22 surgeries!!!)! uni2424 48 Posted March 18, 2015 Thanks everyone! I laid back down for a while and got back up and was feeling much better. Definitely some serious soreness but it feels like just soreness now and not like something is wrong!
LSF 264 Posted March 21, 2015 I slept with a small pillow on my left side for the first month. It helped alot
sallyomalley67 77 Posted March 21, 2015 I turned wrong once too and it took about a week to get over it. The pillows are a lifesaver.
newrose2427 30 Posted March 22, 2015 I'm 11 days post op and have been sleeping sitting up on the couch lol.. I can't even tolerate laying. It's like my stomach is so big it pulls every thing. I tried last night for the first time to lay in the bed, I did the same thing! I pulled some thing some where and it was not good! So now I'm staying back on the couch for a few more nights. I can't wait to be able to lay down!
jcmo 40 Posted March 22, 2015 I found getting in and out of bed horrible for the first week. I am 19 days post op and can sleep comfortably on my back or right side. The left side is still a no go. I find I prop myself with lots of pillows and that really helps. It will get better. If it's Sore and not just when you are sleeping then contact your surgeon. It will get better. A bit each day.
