I can't even eat a whole cup of Jello without feeling like I am going to pop. Drinking Water is hard too. 2 sips is all I can handle at a time . I am also very sore . How long until the soreness is gone ?

Hi. You just had your surgery. Your stomach is swollen in there, that is why you cannot get alot of Fluid into your new stomach. In about 3-4 weeks you stomach will start to finally become a normal size and you will be able to eat a little more.

I had my surgery on 11/21/14 and can only seem to get just a little over 800 calories per day in me. Just a few weeks back I was at 600 calories per day. When I started out, I was eating 2 teaspoons every 2 hours. Believe me, it made me full and my tummy would hurt.

I just remember that we now have a new tummy,, the size of a baby's tummy. Just feed yourself like you would a newborn. It will eventually become easier.

Take your time, enjoy your journey......it is amazing.....................

Also, FYI...........you will not loose a lot during the first 2 weeks, but after that it comes off like butter and you will be a whole new person that you will love.

Annamarie

I was sleeved Friday...I dealt with the pain ok, but also am still having a hard time getting liquids down...I felt much better after walking the hospital floor and when I got home, walked around my neighborhood a bit and pain dropped significantly.

Today was first day I was able to get about 40 oz/52 g of Protein but it's been difficult. My belly hurts whenever I drink but I think that pain is slightly better too..dr said it should go away as I heal but I still need to get my Protein in.

@@tmlawson it's rough the first week but should get better after that. You just had surgery it's going to take a min to heal. Try to hang in there. It won't last forever.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
