Babbs 14,681 Posted March 17, 2015 What did your surgeon or NUT recommend? Mine said 1 year. I did have a Bloody Mary at around 4 months. No problems with it. Didn't even get a buzz.
Veronica Page 488 Posted March 17, 2015 I was told 6 months for hard alcohol but could maybe handle a really small glass of wine here and there. Haven't tried anything yet though.

bikrchk 1,313 Posted March 17, 2015 It's safest to follow YOUR doc's instructions regarding alcohol! That said, I think I tried a bloody mary about 4 months out, (yes I drank against medical advice). It was HUGE, (probably not but felt that way) took me all night to sip down and became "dinner" it filled me so, but wasn't a problem. I haven't found that 1 drink will knock me out or anything, but now that I've lost almost half a person, I def can't manage it like I used to. Moderation in everything now, food and alcohol and its all good.
back2me15 5 Posted March 18, 2015 At my 6 week visit my Dr. Said I could have an occasional glass of wine, but to be mindful of the calories and as long as my stomach can handle it.
